lol... gestern noch habe ich einer ungarischen Freundin gesagt, daß die ungarische Sprache verdammt schwer zu lernen sei... schlagfertig, wie sie nun mal ist, hat sie mir heute eine passende Antwort gemailt..

German is very easy to learn. The teacher starts to explain at the
first class the articles: - Der, des, dem, den, die... and so on. Could not
be easier!
Just to give you a simple example. Let's take a German course book in
your hand, a very nice one published in Dortmund which deals with the habits
of Hottentots (in German: Hottentotten). We learn from the book that
kangoroos (Beutelratten) are captured and closed in cages (Kotter) covered by
canvas (Lattengitter) to protect them from the weather. The name of such a
cage is 'cage covered by canvas' ( Lattengitterkotter) and when the kangoroo is
inside it is called Lattengitterkotterbeutelratten, that is kangorro
in the canvas covered cage.
One day the Hottentots arrested an assassin (Attentäter) who killed a
mother (Mutter) who was also a Hottentot (Hottentottenmutter) and who
had a silly son with a stammer (stottertrottel). This mother is called in
German Hottentottenstottertrottelmutter and her killer is called
Hottentottenstottertrottelmutterattentäter.
The police caught the killer and closed him in a cangoroo cage
(Beutelrattenlattengitterkotter) but unfortunately the killer escaped.
The police started the search for him and soon one of the policemen rushed
into the office of the sheriff shouting:
- I have caught the killer! (Attentäter)
- Which one? - asked the sheriff
- The Lattengitterkotterbeutelrattenattentäter! - answered the
policeman
- What? A killer whom we closed in the kangooro cage?
- Well, - ansered the policeman - you know, the
Hottentotterstottertrottelmutterattentäter.
- Oh, ********, you should have said immediately that you caught the
Hottentotterstottertrottelmutterlattengitterkotterbeutelrattenattentäter!
